Updated LEGO Ideas Bluey project reaches 10,000 supporters for the second time

Bluey! Again!, a project originally submitted in 2022, has been reworked and has again reached 10,000 followers on LEGO Ideas. 

Bluey, an Australian animated television series, was created in 2018, and while it was originally aimed at preschoolers it soon gained wider popularity not just in Australia, but across the globe. The show focuses more on playing and social situations than just learning counting or reading, which arguably makes it ideal for parents to watch along and enjoy with their children.

Instead of a DUPLO set, which some have suggested may be more appropriate given the show demographics, this proposal gives the AFOL community a fun, detailed look at the Heeler house, including the family car and eight characters too.

As Monkey Scout, the creator of the project, puts it: “The show may look like a cute little kids show for preschoolers, but no. Don’t judge a book by its cover I say! It is a show made for adults to enjoy alongside their kids, or even by themselves! I’m a 16-year-old and I love Bluey more than any preschooler could.”

The original 2022 proposal reached 10,000 votes in the incredibly short period of just three days, but was rejected last month in the review stage. The current updated version seems to be more structurally sound than its predecessor, with improvements including printed windows, colour details that are more accurate to the ones in the show, as well as using only 2,952 LEGO elements compared to the original 2,997. 

The LEGO review will begin in May 2023, and we look forward to seeing whether this new Bluey project makes it through to the all-important development stage.
