Ubisoft Star Wars game rumoured details surface

Ubisoft’s Massive Entertainment Star Wars game is rumoured to have a galaxy-spanning open world, a customizable character and more. 

According to Insider Gaming, the unnamed Star Wars title is set to include a fully open, seamless universe with travel between systems. No Man’s Sky is named as a comparative example in the report and that game offers travel from the surface of planets into space and throughout space without loading screens, as evidenced in the gameplay by Noob Rider.

Also rumoured is a lengthy story driven by a customisable character. Star Wars games usually focus on a specific, named character apart from a few examples so this could be especially immersive for players in what is reported to be a big open world. 

While these details are unconfirmed, the announcement of the title back in 2021 confirmed a story-driven open-world experience, making the customisable character the biggest of the rumoured details. 

The source’s previous rumour about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor being featured at The Game Awards 2022 ended up being accurate, but you should take this unconfirmed information with caution just in case.

As for how this could relate to LEGO Star Wars in the future, the theme has included sets inspired by games before. Featured titles in the past include Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Star Wars Battlefront, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.  

Depending on the popularity of the upcoming Ubisoft title, it could have a future in the world of LEGO too. There are at least six other Star Wars games in development.
